Greenhouse is a new club in NYC that opened last year at 150 Varick Street in Manhattan’s hip SoHo district. Greenhouse NYC hosts many green features and raised the bar for the nightlife industry by achieving LEED registration and transforming the entire space into a lush green oasis.
The bi-level, 6,000-square-foot space is the first nightclub in New York to with LEED certification, the official stamp of approval from the US Green Building Council. That means that everything from building materials and garbage disposal, energy and water usage, has to be regulated and reduced. The walls are made of sustainable bamboo rather then wood and LED light bulbs are used which use one-thirtieth of the energy of regular incandescent bulbs. Uniforms are sustainably made in Africa by Edun, a clothing company owned by eco-warrior Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson. Electricity for the sound system and the rest of the club is said to be 100 percent wind-powered. The use of waterles urinals and low-flow toilets will make for a big reduction in water use, at least 15,000 gallons saved annually. The featured spirit is organic Vodka 360 which is made in a green distillery and served in a reusable, recycled bottle.

The first two hours of our events are like an extended "cocktail hour" with passed hors d'oeuvres at many events, drink specials, and low music conducive to business networking and making new connections. Later, our events take on a more social atmosphere, with great music, dancing and conversation. Our events are held at the hippest and most interesting venues. However, the music is never so loud that you cannot talk and our crowd is generally comprised entirely of young professionals. We do request "business" or "business casual" dress for our events. With that and a fun spirit, you're good to go!
